Today is Valentine's Day, based on some early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine. And of course you all remember the St. Valentine's Day massacre.
But today, you only have to be a martyr for love itself. The blues is full of love - good, bad and painful. Love lost and love found. Tender love and lusty love. Old love, new love, forsaken love. Or you can just be a fool for love. You know what I mean.

So here's "Addicted to Love," by Robert Palmer. It's followed by another version by another of my favorites, Tina Turner -- she sounds almost as good as she did back in her R&B days. BlueNotes is nothing if not addicted to love -- happy Valentine's Day.
