Last week I went to my first NYFW and stayed for four days. The fourth day mostly involved flying back to Pittsburgh on 9/11. During this fashion week, designers showed their Spring/Summer 2012 collections. Instead of describing what I did, I thought a timeline of events of my first three days would be fun. On my first day of attending Fashion Week, this is what I did:
10:30-11:00 am- Landed in NYC and catched a cab to my hotel. Rapidly texted friends that I was finally there. NYC!!!!
12:15 pm: Picked up Press Credentials outside Lincoln Center and ran into my best friend in NYC, Julia.
12:30 pm: Lunch with Julia and unpacked strategically planned fashion week outfits in my hotel room.
2:00 pm: First Show: Tadashi Shoji.

Sat a few rows back from the runway. Ran into fashionable Pittsburgher, LaMont Jones. The Tadashi Shoji show was amazing. Elegant dresses in solf fabrics, sequins, stripes, and much more. I fell in love with his collection. Maybe it was because his show was my first official show, or maybe it was because I simply love dresses and everything he put down the runway. Nonetheless, I loved it. (You can see more of my photos at the Clutch Facebook Fan Page here.)
2:45 pm: Back to hotel. Refreshed, recharged, and changed for Fashion's Night Out with my friend Julia.
6:00pm: Fashion’s Night Out Tour around Manhattan
DNKY: Purchased a great pair of hot pink fingerless gloves for the Pittsburgh winters.
Talbots: Met and chatted with celebrity stylist and fashion/beauty expert Mary Alice Stephenson, who was AMAZING. She helped Julia and I pick out a new piece from Talbots for our wardrobes. Julia purchased a pair of suede booties, while I got a black pleated skirt. (You can see photos of Talbot's FNO here.)
Missoni for Target pop-up shop: Line BEYOND too long, even by New York standard, as Julia pointed out. Tried to get in with our press passes. Didn’t work. Moved on to a Juicy Couture store. In and out in a few minutes.
First Trip on Subway! To JCPenny. Late. By donating one item from our wardrobes, Julia and I received a gift card to purchase something new. I still need to get my new item. I'm thinking something by MNG by Mango.
Back on subway to the Lucky Store. Saw Tim Gunn again. Phenomenal.
Tacos. The perfect way to end FNO was with one of my favorites. Met lovely ladies from Sorrelli jewelry and talked jewels over tacos. If you are looking for some new jewelry, definitely check out what Sorrelli has. Saying I want one of everything is an understatement.
Around 11:30 pm-12:00 am: Back at hotel. Shoes off and sleep.
Check back on Friday for Day 2 of my time at NYFW.
