So I'm curious to know what viewers thought of NBC's debut of "Smash" last night, but first we have an opportunity to interact tonight, Tuesday, Feb. 7:

Post-Gazette media writer Maria Sciullo (@MariaSciulloPG) and I (@RobOwenTV) will be chatting on Twitter (www.twitter.com) during Lifetime's Pittsburgh-set reality show "Dance Moms." We'll use the hash tag #PGDanceMoms. Join us tonight at 9 for conversation about the reality show Pittsburghers love to hate.

Now, back to "Smash" right after the jump (updated with ratings link). ...

smash_playbillSo NBC debuted "Smash" last night (to pretty good ratings) and NBC threw everything at it, including a reported $25 million in promotions. I'd believe it given the amount of advertising both on-air and off, including this funny, fantastic "Smash"-themed retro network promo.

But what did you think? I weighed in with a review Sunday in TV Week and the PG's Sharon Eberson interviewed "Smash" star and Pittsburgh native Christian Borle. But I'm curious what viewers thought. Will you tune in again?

I've seen two more episodes since writing Sunday's review and I do think the show continues to improve. Episode 4 is the best of the bunch, as far as I'm concerned, because it keeps the characters more together with a greater emphasis on the show and no scenes about Julia (Debra Messing) and her home life, which is the worst aspect of "Smash."
